October 23, 2021 (tentative)

Hello M2M racers and future racers!

I miss you! Now that we have 2020 behind us...I am strategizing for 2021 and hope we will see you! It is SO hard to predict what's going to happen! So...I am making this race tentative until May. That is the longest I can wait and still be able to get everything in place.

I am going ahead with plans, assuming it will be a go, but for now...the decision on 2021 M2M will come at the end of May and registration will begin then.

Health and happiness to all!

All proceeds go to the Marathon Volunteer Fire Department as they work hard all day to keep our course as safe as possible. Last year they raised $8535 to buy much needed equipment. Serving up Chicken, Brisket, Sausage, Beans (vegetarian), baked potatoes, iced tea, free beer AND an added bonus this year….Connie from Connie’s Baked Goods will be serving up some fabulous cobblers with ice cream for dessert! We won't run out this year... I guess racers really like their sugar after a run!!

Nicole Davenport is cooking up the food for us again this year. In case you don’t know, she appeared in BBQ Pitmasters in 2010 and Chopped in 2012.

In 2012 she was one of Five of the greatest BBQ Pitmasters in the USA who traveled to military bases in Kuwait to stage a once-in-a-lifetime Southern-style cookout. It became a documentary released in 2013 called "The Kings of Barbeque Kuwait". Watch the trailer here.

The lunch is $16.00 per plate. Extra plates can be ordered with the online registration. There will be a limited amount of tickets available the day of the race so be sure and reserve your spot by ordering a lunch online. All proceeds go to the Fire Department.

Post Race Massages:

Available in Evans Gallery (between the bank and the hotel on the main street) Sign up sheet in the gallery. $20/fifteen minutes.

Awards Ceremony:

The awards ceremony is right after the race at 1:30 pm at the Fire Dpt. Fundraiser lunch. See the awards page for all the spiffy awards!! NO AWARDS WILL BE MAILED! You may have a friend receive your award for you.

We give lots of awards 200 of them!!! - 1st, 2nd, 3rd for each overall race, men’s and women's AND 1st & 2nd for each age category in each race. Folks are surprised they actually placed! We give awards so that you will come to the awards ceremony. So, if you don't come - don't ask me to mail your award! It defeats the purpose. Also, it is just a wonderful moment to end the race, if you haven’t experienced one, you will go away with a smile on your face and a warm heart!

Post-Race Party at Marathon Motel:

6:30pm dinner
7:30pm Music / Dance
9:00 pm Star Party

We are thrilled to have the Marathon Motel back to sponsor the Saturday night party in their courtyard. Live band with a great dance floor, fire pit and Nicole Davenport (see Post Race Lunch) will have her food truck delivering up Steak, Pulled Pork and Chicken Tacos with toppers of queso fresco, ensalada, black or barracho beans, jalapeno, Serrano, chili pequin, pickled onions and sweets. 12.00 for 5 tacos!! May be a chef plate special in there as well!

The Motel will provide a keg of beer until it runs out...otherwise BYOB!

They are pulling out the telescopes to gaze at the stars from our stunning Class I dark sky for a star party to add to the fun.
