texas marathon

Event Information

Date: October 23, 2021

Welcome to the 18th annual M2M!! Four races starting north on 385 to one finish line in the heart of Marathon, Texas... and FOOD!! Pasta Dinner Friday night at The Gage, BBQ lunch Saturday at the finish line, Marathon Motel evening dance / star party and Sunday Gospel brunch at The French Co. Grocer. 100% of proceeds of all M2M events will go to The Marathon Health Center! See our vision for the future of health in our community at our pop up display at the events.

Due to safety reasons... The finish line for M2M has changed!!! It is no longer on Hwy 90 but will end in front of the Community Center and Fire Dept. You will make a jog before you get to town that will give you a straight away shot to the finish line in sight! The finish line will be right at the post race lunch so all of the lunch goers can hear the winners crossing the finish line and give them the proper cheers they deserve! The awards party will be right at the same place as well, so easy to stick around! See the course map under the Race Info page.

COVID-19 protocols for entire race:

We are a small population with no good health care close. Please respect our vulnerability and wear your mask when you are closer than six feet to another person...inside or outside. All of our events are outside.

Wear a mask at packet pickup, lunch line and race start (until you get more than 6 feet away from each other). Please wear a true mask.

All registration fees include free transportation to your race start line (from Marathon only), a technical racing shirt AND every racer who crosses the finish line gets an M2M ribbon medal at the finish line and additional awards for winners at the awards ceremony. Registrations after October 1st are not guaranteed a medal and shirt. We have never missed but the more late registrations we have the less we are able to guess as the medals and shirts have to be ordered a month ahead.

We appreciate our racers! This is a small town of less than 500 people and YOU make a difference to us. One hundred percent of the proceeds from this race has gone to various organizations in Marathon for the last ten years. This year the proceeds will be going to our Marathon Health Center. This project has been in the works for five years and will launch in 2021 bringing a necessary "full health" vision to our rural town. Unlike big cities, your individual registration can have a huge impact for us and we appreciate your support! We hope to show you the hospitality that will bring you back to see us. Thank you!

They also will be cooking their famous peach cobbler served with ice cream as well.

The French Company will be holding us up with baked beans, baked potatoes with all the fixings and iced tea.

Marathon ISD will be serving up the food for you!!

The lunch is $20.00 per plate. Extra plates can be ordered with the online registration. There will be a limited amount of tickets available the day of the race so be sure and reserve your spot by ordering a lunch online. All proceeds go to the Marathon Health Center.

Post Race Massages:

Massage therapists are allowed to set up tables on the lawn beside the lunch venue. Please contact us first to get permission and sign up to provide massages. If you would like you can also schedule a massage with the spa at The Gage Hotel.

Awards Ceremony:

The awards ceremony is right after the race at 1:30 pm at the Fire Dpt. Fundraiser lunch. See the awards page for all the spiffy awards!! NO AWARDS WILL BE MAILED! You may have a friend receive your award for you.

We give lots of awards 200 of them!!! - 1st, 2nd, 3rd for each overall race, men's and women's AND 1st & 2nd for each age category in each race. Folks are surprised they actually placed! We give awards so that you will come to the awards ceremony. So, if you don't come - don't ask me to mail your award! It defeats the purpose. Also, it is just a wonderful moment to end the race, if you haven’t experienced one, you will go away with a smile on your face and a warm heart!

Make a reservation for dinner at The Gage Hotel, pick up something at the Brick Vault or check out The French Co backyard dinner before music and dance at The Marathon Motel!
